Aludium publishes its 2019 Sustainability Report

Sustainability is the heart of our business’ is the title of Aludium’s third annual sustainability publication, which highlights, among other key aspects, that employee safety is the company’s top priority and that its goal is to build the most efficient recycling circuit for aluminum

Aludium has just launched its sustainability report for 2019. In this publication, it is emphasized that sustainability is the heart of Aludium and that it is at the center of its business strategy. Lionel Chapis, CEO of Aludium, states that the greatest commitment of Aludium is the safety and care of its employees at all levels. This commitment has been materialized this year in the Health and Safety policy as “it has been key to minimize the effects of the pandemic on employees, customers and our business,” adds Mario Allet, director of R&D of Aludium.

Aludium and COVID-19: Still open for business

While Aludium is closely monitoring the evolution of the COVID-19 health emergency, production of our premium aluminium continues as normal. We continue to process and dispatch orders for our customers across Europe. We do not expect any disruptions to our supply chain, production, or delivery schedules.

Aludium has taken steps to ensure our workforce are aware of the virus and its symptoms. All personnel are encouraged to self-isolate if they do notice the warning signs or suspect they have been in contact with someone who has the virus.

Aludium Announces Lionel Chapis as Chief Executive Officer

Long-time Aluminum Processing Executive Joins Leading Industry Supplier of European Aluminum Solutions

Aludium, a leading supplier of aluminum solutions to the distribution and industrial markets in Europe, announced today that Lionel Chapis has been named the company’s new Chief Executive Officer effective March 1, 2020.  Chapis, who most recently served as Managing Director, Automotive Solutions, at Constellium, brings over two decades of experience in the aluminum industry to this new role.  Oliver Bell, who has served as Interim Chief Executive Officer, will support Chapis during the transition period through March and then continue in his role as member of the Board of Directors and Operating Partner of Atlas Holdings, which owns Aludium.

Aludium’s Spanish mills achieve ASI Performance Standard

Aludium’s facilities in Alicante and Amorebieta (Spain) were certified against the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative’s (ASI) Performance Standard. The certification was granted by ASI on 13 December 2019, less than two years after Aludium applied.

Aludium funds technical places for women

Aludium funds FEMPA scholarships

Aludium has announced that it will fund two scholarships for women at the FEMPA Vocational School in Alicante. The places will be open to women who are interested in pursuing a career in electricity, electromechanics, or programming. Scholarship recipients will also have the opportunity to do an internship at Aludium’s plant in Alicante. The donation is valued at €5,000.(more…)

Aludium received second prize in the Cycling category of the 2019 eHealth Challenge. The Aludium team covered the second-longest distance in the category for companies with more than a thousand employees. Aludium appoints Oliver Bell as acting CEO

Arnaud de Weert, Chief Executive Officer of Aludium, has decided to step down effective from 30 April 2019. Arnaud has been instrumental in creating Aludium from assets purchased from Alcoa at the beginning of 2015. Arnaud will remain on the Aludium Board and in his role as an Operating Partner of Atlas Holdings, the company which owns Aludium.

Oliver Bell, a member of the Aludium Supervisory Board and an Operating Partner of Atlas Holdings, has agreed to take on the role of interim CEO effective from 1 May 2019. Oliver has almost 30 years of experience in the aluminium industry. He has previously served as CEO of Deutsche Edelstahlwerke GmbH and held multiple senior leadership roles at Norsk Hydro. Aludium is pleased to have Oliver’s engagement and experience as we start the next chapter in Aludium’s evolution.
