Rotary furnace goes into operation at Amorebieta Cast House

On 30 September 2016, Aludium Amorebieta melted the first batch of aluminium in its new rotary furnace. Work to install the new furnace and accompanying fume-treatment system began on 13 June.

The works also involved creating new workshops for the maintenance team and the installation of cages to store the scrap to be melted.
The rotary furnace can process all types of low-cost aluminium scrap, including oily and painted metal. It will increase the capacity of the Amorebieta cast house to over 15,000 tonnes annually and reduce Aludium’s dependence on external aluminium supplies

Aludium has busy first day at Automotive Interiors

Aludium is exhibiting for the second year at the Automotive Interiors exhibition in Stuttgart (Germany). The expanded stand has received many visitors on the first day, eager to get their first look at Aludium’s revolutionary Texturandum (patent pending) and ISO Decorandum® product lines. Visitors have been surprised by the possibilities of these new products which have applications in many sectors beyond automotive interiors.

The Aludium stand is staffed by researchers from the company’s in-house Cindal R&D centre as well as Christiane Huber and Musa Barlasakli from the sales team. CEO Arnaud de Weert was also on hand to welcome some of our most important automotive customers on the first day.

Automotive Interiors is growing in popularity with a record number of visitors expected over the three days of the show.

About Texturandum and ISO Decorandum®

Texturandum is a technology (patent pending) which enables Aludium to transfer interesting aesthetic patterns to aluminium in the mill. ISO Decorandum® expands Aludium’s standard Decorandum® range. Where the original Decorandum® patterns are longitudinal, ISO Decorandum® has a scattered, unidirectional pattern making it easier to work with. ISO Decorandum® is almost dry, which simplifies processing significantly.
