May 16, 2022. Nature, physical exercise, good company, self-improvement, camaraderie, family, teamwork, well-being… With these ingredients, the 1st Family Hiking Route organized yesterday in Alicante by Aludium, framed in the healthy business plan ‘Health forever’, could not disappoint. The design of this action was considered as “an opportunity to carry out a fun and healthy activity as a family accompanied by other co-work. The objective of the initiative was to promote sports activity in a healthy, sustainable way and to foster social relations between Aludium workers and their families”, explains Manuel Rodríguez, doctor specializing in occupational medicine at the Alicante plant.
The World Health Organization (WHO) defines health as “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”. The main objective of Aludium’s healthy company project ‘Healthy for ever’ is to make the company’s workers healthier, motivated, satisfied and happier, complying with all aspects of the WHO definition of health.
Novel activity
The route began at 9:30 in the morning in the parking lot of the Aludium factory and from there they entered the Aguamarga ravine to climb the Sierra de Colmenares. During the activity they enjoyed a lunch. “The activity is the first time it has been carried out and the experience of the participants has been very pleasant and healthy. We hope that with the success of this family hiking march, other workers will be encouraged to participate in future editions”, concludes Rodríguez. The next activity is planned for the end of 2022. In addition, cycling and running groups will be organized throughout the year. For its part, the Amorebieta plant is organizing a Nordic walking course to be held in the coming months.
