Aludium pays tribute to its workers on International Women’s Day with a video called ‘The color of aluminium’

International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8, a date adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 16, 1977 in order to promote gender equality, the empowerment of women and the elimination of discrimination against women to achieve their full participation in society on the same terms as men. Since that year, every March 8 this day is commemorated throughout the world where the protagonists are women. Today the color violet floods the streets and social networks around the world to illustrate the claims for women’s equality.

At Aludium we are also wearing violet today to value and pay tribute to all the women who have formed and are part of the company with the launch of a video entitled ‘The color of aluminium’. “The main objectives of this campaign are to make visible the talent of the women who work at Aludium, reveal their professional challenges and show female references in science and Aludium’s commitment to promote and support gender equality inside and outside the company”, reveals Lionel Chapis, CEO of Aludium. “We are aware that there is still a long way to go in the fight for gender equality, but at Aludium the color of aluminum is no longer gray, but violet, thanks to the effort, enthusiasm and talent of the women who work in the company”, points out Joaquim Vaz, VP of Human Resources & EHS. The video ‘The color of aluminium’, the central piece of the campaign, shows some of the women who work at the Alicante, Amorebieta and Castelsarrasin plants. The hashtag used in the campaign is #TheColorOfAluminium.

“My message to wrap up this video which is just a brief glimpse of all the great women I have the privilege of working with at Aludium is a simple quote from Margaret Thatcher, who isn’t exactly famous for being a flamboyant feminist. Once she said: “If you want something to be said, ask a man; if you want something to be done, ask a woman”, and I agree with her”, concludes Lionel Chapis. The motto chosen for this edition by UN Women is “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”. The objective is to recognize the contribution of women and girls from all over the world who are leading efforts to respond, mitigate and adapt to change climate to build a more sustainable future for all people.

Aludium and Adecco Foundation, united to promote employment for women at risk of exclusion

In addition, this year Aludium has joined the 2022 Women’s Week organized by the Adecco Foundation. The signing of this collaboration agreement aims to promote the employment of women at risk of exclusion, who in Spain alone exceed 4 million. Throughout this week the entity is going to develop different actions, among which we can highlight an act that takes place today in which Aludium managers also participate. The color of aluminium is changing. It depends on the collaboration and involvement of all possible actors in society.
