Aludium publicly denounces any type of violence against women

Today, 25 November (25N) marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. Regarding all women, those who are here and those who are not, Aludium strongly denounces any type of gender violence and commits itself to playing an active role in ending violence against them.

Violence against women, in whatever form, is the ultimate expression of gender inequality, and was considered as such at the Fourth World Conference on Women (Beijing, 1995). Its eradication marks the second target of Sustainable Development Goal 5 in the 2030 Agenda: “Eliminate all forms of violence against all women and girls in the public and private spheres, including trafficking and sexual and other types of exploitation.”

The most recent United Nations research reveals that of the 81,000 women and girls intentionally killed in 2021 worldwide, more than half died at the hands of their partners or other relatives. Violence against women and girls is one of the most generalised human rights violations worldwide, affecting an estimated one in three women. If you see or become aware of a case of gender violence, do not look the other way, act.
