May 16, 2025. Supporting the health and well-being of our team, as well as guaranteeing the highest standards of safety and occupational risk prevention, are two of Aludium’s strategic priorities. This year, to mark the World Day for Health and Safety at Work, held every April 28th, the company organized ‘Safety Week 2025’, the aims of which include promoting risk prevention and underpinning the health and safety culture at the company. “We never lower our guard in our efforts and hard work in the field of health, safety and risk prevention, and each year aim to organize activities that deliver value and protect our team,” according to Joaquim Vaz, VP HR & EHS at Aludium.
A number of activities were staged at the Amorebieta plant: a training session delivered by a physiotherapist, focusing on exercises and good practices for workers using display screen equipment (DSE) and immersive experiences with VR headsets covering risks when working at height, lock-out, tag-out/LOTOT practices and emergency evacuation, as well as activities to raise awareness as to the effects of alcohol and drugs on risk perception.

Meanwhile, the Alicante plant was visited by three groups of firefighters, who were shown the whole factory and given an explanation of the risks connected with the company’s production processes. The supervisors also held a particularly interesting talk about how to act in an emergency and on the arrival of the fire service.
Two ergonomics sessions were delivered in partnership with ASEPEYO, addressing physical and visual fatigue by taking healthy breaks. Two safety awareness sessions were likewise provided for middle managers, including team leaders and unit managers. Over the course of the training, explanatory videos prompted reflections on their function and their responsibilities. To round off the sessions, training was given in general EHS risks, to remind staff of the risks and preventive measures in place at the plant, for employees at Cindal and the Quality and Engineering Departments.

The last of the events to promote an active and sporty lifestyle among the workforce at Safety Week 2025 provided a truly healthy finale. A hike was organized last Sunday, enjoyed by 7 members of staff. On this occasion the aim was to reach the summit of Cabeço d’Or, a mountain peak 1,209 meters above sea level, from the Canelobre Caves in Busot, Alicante. This time the activity took place without children, as the first hiking event conducted as part of the ‘Health Forever’ health promotion initiative launched in 2017. At Aludium we continue to foster safe and healthy working environments.
