Architecture
Aluminum offers endless possibilities for architectural applications. It is a light and sustainable alternative to other materials due to:
– Good strength-to-weight ratio
– Excellent fire resistance
– Excellent surface finish adjustable to customer needs
– High degree of flatness, important for facades and other large surfaces.
– Excellent resistance to corrosion.
– Long-term durability without maintenance.
Aludium produces semi-finished and finished coils, bands and sheets that our clients paint and use to make:

Facades
With its light weight, easy formability, high strength-to-weight ratio, and excellent resistance to corrosion, aluminium is the leading material for facades. It can be utilised in its natural silver colour to add a touch of elegance and modernity to any building. But it also suitable for use as paint stock, brushing, or anodising. This enables architects and designers to achieve a range of finishes that is almost impossible with any other material.
Aludium offers a range of alloys in any temper for use in facades. Our products have an excellent surface finish and a high degree of flatness. We can supply semi-finished and finished aluminium coils, sheets, and strips which are ready for transformation into lightweight and durable cassettes, composite and sandwich panels, or profiles.
See below to find out more about Aludium’s facades portfolio.

Roofs
Roofing is one of the most demanding applications for any material. It must withstand the effects of sunlight, rain, hail, snow, wind, and the deposition of dust and contaminants more than any other part of a building. Above all it must be light in weight and exhibit structural resistance.
Due to these requirements, aluminium has become a vital solution for roofing applications. Aluminium roofs are durable, light, energy-efficient, and allow a high number of finishes including colour and visual effects.
Aluminium can be combined with other materials (such as bitumen coatings) to give a structure even more protection. It’s also an affordable material when the entire lifecycle of the roof is taken into account. Aluminium does not warp, crack or burn, is extremely corrosion resistant, and will not rust.
Aludium supplies aluminium alloys suitable for roofing applications in ready to use condition or for final transformation. We offer a complete range of aluminium alloys in any temper.

Doors
Aluminium doors offer a light weight solution for garages, showrooms, warehouses, public spaces, and homes. When formed from composite materials, they can also insulate spaces against noise and temperature variations.
One of aluminium’s key advantages in this application is its fire resistance. In the event of a fire, aluminium dissipates heat quickly, delaying fire propagation. It will not burn or produce toxic fumes, making it the perfect material for fire doors.

Sun protection systems
Roller shutters, Venetian blinds, and other sun protection systems help to keep the interiors of buildings at a constant temperature, whatever the season. By minimising sun intrusion, sun protection systems also help to reduce the carbon footprint of a building by minimising the need for artificial cooling or heating systems.
Aluminium sun-protection systems are lightweight and very cost effective. They can be colour-matched to facade or roofing elements to create a cohesive building volume with definite curb appeal.
Aludium produces a wide range of alloys suitable for use in sun-protection applications. We supply high quality metal which is ready for intermediate transformation. Our products can also be combined with polymers and other materials to create parts for special uses.

Interiors
Virtually any interior finish is achievable with aluminium. It is an ideal paint stock, or it can be anodised to produce unique effects that cannot be obtained with other materials. The surface pattern of the aluminium can also be tailored during rolling to create textured surfaces in the finished panels.
Aluminium is regularly used in ceiling systems, particularly those installed in office and industrial buildings. Light weight, and easy to form and install, aluminium ceiling systems are also easy to clean and maintain.
For interior decoration, panels of aluminium can be clad in other materials to create feature walls or effects. For example, thin marble sheets can be adhered to the aluminium to give the appearance of a robust marble column. This type of integrated solution is used for both interiors and exteriors.
Aludium can supply aluminium for interior architectural applications directly from the mill in a directional brushed (mill) finish, or with a random (isotropic) finish such as shot-blasted, grained, or polished.
Our bright product portfolio includes finishes to suit any decorative application. These products are typically used to create decorative and functional surfaces for architectural applications. Finishes range from highly reflective to matte. Aludium’s semi-finished bright products are suitable for secondary treatments such as anodising, coating, or lacquering. They can be supplied in coils, sheets, or strips.
Aludium also offers two patented surface finishes: Decorandum® and Texturandum. Where Decorandum® offers a number of standard finishes, Texturandum can be tailored to create almost any highly defined pattern or logo. Texturandum is particularly suitable for creating single decorative panels which feature the logo or brand of the building’s owners.

Furniture
Aluminum is an ideal material for functional and decorative applications. Its excellent durability, versatility, transformability, and high surface quality make it perfect for aesthetic applications in furniture such as cabinetry, baseboards and interior wall decoration.
One of the key benefits of aluminum furniture is ease of cleaning. This makes them particularly useful in those applications where hygiene is critical, such as in kitchens, wet areas, and in professional environments such as hospitals and restaurants.
Aludium can supply a range of alloys to meet the specifications of any furniture application. Our material is suitable for painting, anodizing, or texturing to create a perfect appearance. Aludium also offers our proprietary Decorandum ® and Texturandum ® product lines for producers to create unique and custom-made furniture.

Lighting
The highly reflective surface of polished aluminium is widely used in internal and external lighting applications. Reflectors made from bright, reflective aluminium help to evenly distribute light from both conventional and power LEDs.
Aluminium is also an interesting solution for the bodies and covers of interior and exterior lighting. It offers excellent corrosion and fire resistance, long-term durability without maintenance, and an excellent strength-to-weight ratio.
Due to its ease of formability architects and lighting designers can create unusual shapes and forms which integrate perfectly into the urban landscape. Aluminium is also very sustainable due to its low maintenance, durability, and recyclability. It can be lacquered, painted, or anodised to match the environment in which it is used.
Aludium recommends alloys from the 1xxx or 5xxx series for lighting applications. We offer coils, strips, and sheets in finishes ranging from mill finish to grand brilliant for the brightest lighting applications.
Aludium’s offer includes alloys suitable for anodising, lacquering, or painting. Our patented Decorandum® product line is also suitable for high-end and decorative lighting applications. Decorandum® offers the look of stainless steel but with the weight advantage of aluminium.
