June 9, 2022. The Human Resources department of Aludium’s Amorebieta plant accepted the challenge of participating on behalf of the company in the Bilbao Business Race 2022. The challenge of this sports competition, which has become an event sporting event in Bizkaia, was that each team – made up of four people – had to reach the finish line at the same time.
Synchronization, teamwork, communication, companionship, spirit of improvement and effort to achieve the proposed objectives were some of the keys for the Aludium team to reach the goal. The meeting was attended by the most important and representative companies of the industrial fabric of Bizkaia. With this action, Aludium has shown that no challenge can resist it, even though none of the participants were regular runners, which adds more value to this challenge achieved.
Four members of Aludium’s HR department in Amorebieta took part in the Bilbao 2022 Company Race on Sunday 5 June. These fellows joined in this celebration of sport in its fourth edition, making the whole Aludium family proud. “There has been a great ‘’teambuilding’ dynamic. Promoting healthy lifestyle habits inside and outside the company and values such as teamwork, sportsmanship and effort are essential at Aludium and are part of our corporate values”, say the participants.
Our runners also received encouragement from several relatives who came to celebrate their arrival. More than 170 companies and entities came together to celebrate the values of camaraderie and competition in an event organized by El Correo and Cebek with the sponsorship of Banco Santander and the Consorcio de Aguas, which brought together 1,144 runners. The Spanish athlete Martín Fiz, European and world marathon champion, led this race.
The eight kilometer route started from Doña Casilda Park and ended at the Maritime Museum, after filling some of the most significant points of the town with color, such as Abandoibarra, the Guggenheim Museum, the Town Hall bridge, the Campo Volantín promenade or the Euskalduna bridge.
The participating teams had to run together and the last of the four runners could not overcome the difference with the first of their quartet in eight seconds, so teamwork was essential. The winners were the Ertzaintza, Osakidetza and Saitec, in the male, mixed and female categories.
