November 7, 2025. Last Friday, Red Cross Alicante rewarded Aludium for its efforts in promoting equal opportunities for women and men. This major accolade recognizes our commitment to become a beacon of gender equality within the sector and in our communities. The award was handed out during the 16th Day organized by the Equality Board (Mesa de Igualdad), promoted by the Red Cross Employment Plan.
In the words of the Red Cross, this recognition “emphasizes the equality measures fostered at the heart of those organizations receiving the award, to promote and achieve equal opportunity between men and women.” The award-winning companies and organizations were: Aludium, FEMPA (Federation of Metal Businesses of the Province of Alicante) and the Nova Feina Foundation. The three award-winners now join a group of more than 90 companies and organizations previously honored by the Equality Board since it was first founded.

The Human Resources Team and Works Council had the honor of collecting the accolade, emphasizing that “the award represents the company’s vision, focused on corporate objectives, and is born out of numerous initiatives, plans and actions undertaken in the interests of equality at our sites, both within and beyond the company.”
During the award ceremony, the Red Cross highlighted three measures within the Aludium Equality Plan : positive action measures in the hiring of women workers at senior levels, groups and positions; yearly preparation and distribution of a guide to explain work-life balance measures and encourage shared responsibility, and adaptation of the training platform to allow training to be undertaken by the whole workforce on equal terms.
The current Aludium Equality Plan, presented in late 2024, is part of our social and sustainable performance. Through this plan, Aludium reasserts its commitment to foster gender equality, by guaranteeing a workplace free of gender discrimination, and creating a more inclusive and egalitarian environment for our entire workforce.

The Equality Board is an initiative of Bridges for Equality in Employment Plus Project (Puentes por la igualdad en el empleo PLUS), involving Alicante City Council. It is focused on raising awareness among businesses as to the importance of applying equal opportunities and the gender perspective across the board, as a value driving economic development and corporate social responsibility.
